#Long startup time windows 7 install
I just did a clean install last week and it still persists. I have (and always have had) at least 18gb free on my SSD. My pagefile is shrunk (shrank?) down to 1gb. I have tried having ZERO startup programs, even though I only have AVG and Everest at startup anyways. The only real tweaks I have done (that are still in effect) is moving the TMP and TEMP folders to a separate partition on my secondary HD. I have tried the no GUI boot and checking the boot log, both also to no avail. What do ya know.I hear WinXP start up music and look over at my desktop and it is still sitting at the Windows boot splash (this is where it always seems to get hung). So just now, I happened to reboot my main rig (in sig), then reboot my laptop (old as dirt with 250gb WD Cav Blue mechanical HD). I have given myself time to figure out what is going on, to no avail. I posted this over in the Windows section, but I feel it may be an SSD issue as well.Įver since I got my SSD, I have not been AT ALL impressed with my boot time.
